Juliet is a 5 year old Pintabian mare who came from the Fremont County abuse case. She is friendly and willing and just needs time and handling to bring her along. She can be handled and touched all over and is learning to pick up her feet and lead up. Juliet has a kind eye and wants to please. She is about 14.1H and is of good weight.
Update: Juliet is a lovely girl, leads up nicely, is learning to pick up her feet, disengage hindquarters, lower her head, stand to be groomed and all of the other ground tasks that will prepare her for saddle training. Juliet trailer loads very calmly.
Update: Juliet is pregnant! Her growing belly suggested we do a preg check and sure enough, she is due to foal in late April or early May. Juliet is not for adoption at this time. She will foal out at Ruby Ranch and begin her saddle training when the baby is weaned.
Update, March 28: Here it is, end of March and Juliet already has a foal, a little bit too early! Tallula had a rough start, needed 1000 mls of ringers lactate but it seemed to work just fine.
Update, April 13: Tallula was laid to rest this morning after two weeks of struggling to survive. She showed us determination, spirit and a willingness to try but her massive abdominal infection was not to be overcome. Although our hearts are broken, Tallula is now free from pain. Tallula is the last baby born to the Fremont County mares who were seized by the Sheriff's Office in July 2009.
Update, May 31: Juliet has been at the trainers for a few weeks now and is doing very well. She took her first ride with a saddle today and showed how smart and calm she could be. See picture below!
