Lacy is a lovely 18YO registered American Saddlebred mare. She is in foal, due date unknown! She is trained under saddle, friendly, easy to get along with and trailer loads with a little patience. Lacy was abandoned on BLM land up near Divide, CO, so we are not sure if she was bred by a BLM mustang or if she was exposed to a stallion before she was abandoned. The thrill for us is that she looks very much like our beloved Ruby (another Saddlebred beauty!) who was euthanized over a year ago. We are happy Lacy has found us.
April 7, 2008: No baby yet! Lacy is hugely in foal, bagging up and cantankerous, especially if another horse looks at her. She likes her humans though!
April 27: Below are pictures of Montego. Lacy foaled on April 20!
July 10: See picture and information about Tego (Montego) on his page.
October 20: Tego is now weaned. We will begin to evaluate Lacy for her training level and ridability within the next week or so. Lacy tacks up easily and knows some round pen work. We'll assess her riding abilities soon.
