MISSING!

After over 18 months of searching, with intervention from an Escondido (California) Humane Society animal control officer, New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, New Hampshire Chief of Police and Stolen Horses International, Blizzie has been found.  Our own Board of Directors member, Irene, pursued a google search to find a Blizzie Blog and ultimately Blizzie's new owner.

Here is Diane with Blizzie in their home near San Diego, California.  We are thankful that Blizzie is in a loving and forever environment.

Blizzardd, aka Blizzie, is a beautiful 4YO Arabian mare, about 14.2H and 850lbs.  She was adopted in March 2007 by a couple in Valley Center, CA -  Amy Thoen and Bret Green, previously at 30726 Roadrunner Ridge, Valley Center, CA 92082 (San Diego County).  This couple completed our adoption application and signed our contract.  The adoption contract states that "This animal is not to be sold, traded, leased, given away, abandoned or disposed of in any way without prior notification to and approval of RRHR."

RRHR does not release ownership papers or bill of sale in adoptions for six months, and only after a guarantee that the needs of the horse are being met.  About October 2007, we started leaving voicemails and even wrote a letter only to have our requests for information about the welfare of Blizzie disregarded.  Escondido Animal Control responded to our request for assistance and discovered that the address listed above has been vacant for several months and that Amy Thoen posted Craigslist ads for the sale of several Arabians.  A follow-up check with one of the references told us that Amy and Bret have split up, that their horses may have been sold to a woman in Julian, CA, and that Amy may have moved back to, or near to, Bow, New Hampshire, where she previously lived and worked as a vet tech.  Both of their cell phone numbers are still active.  Please feel free to call Amy at 760-855-2404 and Bret at 760-855-2029 and ask them to provide information and whereabouts of our horse, Blizzie.

Cases such as ours are considered a civil matter.  We have posted the information with NetPosse.com, Stolen Horses International.  If anyone has the ability to assist in any way, it would be greatly appreciated!
