Montego is an American Saddlebred cross, foaled on April 20, 2008, here at Ruby Ranch. His mom, Lacy on our website, is a registered American Saddlebred. She was abandoned on BLM land, the culprit was caught and he turned over her registration papers although we received no information as to Montego's sire. He was adopted from us as a weanling and because of his owner's recent financial difficulties, he is once again available for adoption. He was well cared for and nicely trained during the months he lived elsewhere. Montego, aka Tego, moves nicely in the roundpen at the walk, trot and canter, faces up and comes in. He longes, trailer loads and stands for the farrier. Tego also lowers his head, disengages hindquarters and backs. He is a calm and curious fella, easy to get along with and is friendly in a herd situation. He currently stands at 14.2, and he's taller than the other two boys we have that are his age.
