July 10 - Illyria is a yearling Russian Arabian filly (DOB: May 4, 2009) who came to us from a small herd that has been neglected. She is being rehabilitated at a foster home at Deseos Arabians in Calhan. Illyria was seen by the veterinarian today who assessed a bacterial skin infection, worms and malnutrition. She also stood fairly nicely for a badly needed hoof trim - lots of treats helped! You can see pictures and more information about Illyria at
June 18 - (Adoption Pending!) Diamond is a 20YO white pony with a long mane and tail. She is the sweetest girl, follows you around, very gentle and likes to be groomed. She has had a neglectful past and needs regular hoof care to get her tiny hooves back in shape. She was a young boys pony for many years. Diamond is being represented by Ruby Ranch Horse Rescue and will be adopted, free of charge, to that good home, under the RRHR adoption application and contract which are located on the "Adoption Forms" page. Please call us at 719-541-3642 or email at pr@rrhr.net for more information. Diamond is located in Ramah, CO.

April 26: Tundra is here! (Adopted!) She is a dun quarterhorse filly; date of birth is 5-25-2009. She is quite woolly and has had no training. We are working to get a halter on her. Tundra needs a good grooming but is otherwise in good health and tall for a yearling.

April 6: Fancy and LadyBug were picked up from the S. Calhan Hwy site. Fancy is very thin and most likely has some congenital abnormalities around her face and spine. LadyBug is of decent weight, ribs, spine and hips just beginning to look prominent and thin. They are both 3 years old. Pictures and information coming soon on Fancy, now called Polly. See LadyBug's page under "Our Horses."
