July 26, 2008 - Two horses owned by Kelly of Ft. Garland (near Alamosa) need to find good homes. Kelly has health issues and would like these horses to go to their new homes with an adoption contract so that these horses will never be sold at auction or to slaughter. May 23, 2008 - Four Appaloosa's available free to good homes. All fillies or mares: 2YO dark bay, will mature to at least 15H; 3YO bay with snowflake blanket, will be tall (mom is 16H); 4 or 5YO with excellent conformation (either bay or sorrel), roundpen training, been saddled, not ridden, about 15H; 6 or 7YO (either sorrel or bay) roundpen training, been saddled, has been a broodmare, about 15H. April 29, 2008 - Tiggy is a registered TB mare, about 18 or 19 years old. She is 15.3, has been used as a lesson horse, longes, trail rides and doesn't enjoy jumping. Her owner, Ian Schwartz says she is sweet, loves attention and smart. She is not suitable for the rank beginner rider. She is free to a good home. Contact Ian (pronounced eye-an) at 720-218-1106. April 28, 2008 - Jewel is a 3YO registered Arabian filly, currently about 14H and blood bay. Her owner, Amy, says she is very attractive with a high-stepping gait, excellent feet and very friendly. Amy would like to have her adopted through a rescue. At this time, Jewel is available to that good home for a nominal adoption donation, an approved application and contract. April 4, 2008: ADOPTED! 24YO TB mare needs new home. Owner wants her to be gone and claims he will euthanize her. He is not particularly concerned about who picks her up. Miss Laurel. Grey mare, would make a rock solid ranch horse, not for beginners, halter broke only, gets along best with geldings (mares pick on her), quite trainable, age guess 10-12, approx 15hh, built solid, sound and athletic.

Samara. Gorgeous buckskin/dun mare. On the small side but appears to be quite young. Learns quickly and like the other mares will really benefit from consistent handling. Sound and healthy. Jules. (ADOPTED!) Blood bay mare. quick to trust, needs a human to help build her trust again, shy but quick to bond in hand, halter broke, takes a saddle and bridle w/ relative ease, not sure if broke to ride but loads like a pro and shows signs she knows a lot. This is the mare that was struck by the feedlot ranch hand with a golf club. Jules wants very much to get back to being a regular horse with a gentle human. Would benefit tremendously from consistent handling and bonding. Looks to be approx. 7 years old and around 15hh. She is also now located at Dreamcatchers Equine Rescue - see above.

Sheik. 22 yr old arab gelding. Lot's of spunk, loves the trail. Fully rideable for interm. and up rider. Was owned for years and ridden by a mother and her teen daughter who ran into financial troubles & couldn't afford his board.

Chance: This good looking 17YO mustang gelding is over 15 hands and has been saddle trained, although he needs a refresher course and needs a good hoof trimming. Penny: ADOPTED! Penny is a gorgeous light sorrel color. She is a tall registered Thoroughbred about 18 years old, saddle trained and needs a tune-up. She also needs to gain some weight. Her other two herdmates push her off her food.

Katie: March 31, 2008 - Katie is a lovely sorrel mare, 20+ years old and still has lots of energy for a fun ride. She has a swollen hock that doesn't seem to get in her way, in fact it's been like that for over 6 years. Katie was used on a dude string but is not a beginner's horse. She needs some senior feed in the winter, gets along well with other horses, has no vices and is free to a new home. Katie is currently residing at Dreamcatchers Equine Rescue.
