February 25: Here's what Jag's owner says about him: "Appendix QH gelding (not registered), 15.3H, 10 yrs. Originally Montana ranch broke. He has arthritis in his hocks & coffin joints that I know of-probably knees too. Navicular & mild ringbone as well. Minor tendon/ligament/muscle compensation issues due to his other problems. Can only be ridden lightly & for short periods, needs to be turned out 24/7 in large pen or pasture so he can continuously move around or he will stiffen up & not be able to walk well. He rides Western & English, trails, bareback. Super well behaved, no vices, gets along w/horses, kids, dogs etc. Easy keeper, just needs bute on his really bad days. Ideally needs to be a pasture pet or companion horse & that you put a kid on or jump on yourself for short walks around the property occasionally-he's the kind of horse that can go w/out being ridden for months & then you get on with no problems. Very sweet horse."
Contact Geri at gdpets18@gmail.com. Jag is free to a good home and is located in Berthoud.

February 15 - Red is a 15.1H, 20YO Kentucky Mountain Horse. Red's veterinarian calls him "The Gentleman." Red is very quiet, will carry a beginner or even someone who doesn't know a thing about horses; his owner can't say enough about Red's quiet, friendly and benevolent demeanor. He has the start of arthritis per x-rays and his owner would like to find him a home where there is more flat riding than steep. Although he is still abe to do hilly trails, the time will come when he will be less able. He is a wonderful baby-sitter for unconfident or young horses. His owner would like to see him go to a forever home who will be sensitive to his needs as he ages. He does best as a pasture horse - when stalled will begin to crib, which is curtailed by a felt neck sweat. For more information, email Karen at kjohnson@prairieweb.com. Red is located in Nebraska, owner may be able to transport.

He can lunge with side reins, has been long lined. Clips, trailers, and stands for the farrior, and is up to date with shots and deworming. He just needs more miles under his belt. $1800 OBO. Max is a 25YO, very spirited horse who needs an experienced rider under 140 lbs. His owner says he is one of her favorite horses to ride - he's very fast and needs a sensitive and quiet owner. Max likes a grass diet in the summer and hay and senior feed in the winter. He doesn't do well in indoor arenas but he's a great trail/companion horse.
Max
Jazz (Adopted!) is a 15H registered appaloosa mare, about 16 years old. She is an easy keeper. Jazz is quiet and suitable for medium skilled riders but needs more training. She is very intelligent and willing, good in indoor areas. She can be spirited but not spooky. Her owner feels she is a great 4H prospect for young riders, she is a solid trail horse and has been started over small fences. She is also good for someone who wants to learn how to ride and grow with their horse.
Jazz
Harley is a Welsh Mt. Pony. "He is 100% sound, barefoot, in perfect health. He is 11.3 hands, 12 years old, rides and drives. He cannot be in a situation with pasture/grazing. He needs a dry lot. He had very minor laminitis when young. A young girl rode him and the owners drove him. I have driven him for 5 years now. Harley is not getting used as much as he loves to be used. He is extremely agile and athletic and loves to be driven and go out. He is a real character. He gets along with everyone on turnout and often exercises himself by galloping up and down the hills, jumping off small rocks and just zooming around while the others watch. I am asking $2000 which includes his custom made harness which fits him perfectly. He is built like a tiny QH. No vices." For more information email Karen at kjohnson@prairieweb.com. Harley - driving
