Sister came to us because there were too many horses on the property. Sister is a registered 1/2 Quarterhorse, the other half is Belgian draft. Her sire is Bogey's Frosty Pine out of Poco Dun N Spades. Her momma is a registered Belgian. She is 4 years old and currently stands at about 15.2H. Sister has had some training, worn a saddle and was ridden lead line several times.
Update: Sister is very laid back and needs encouragement to move off a gentle leg squeeze and a smooch, but she's learning. She works fine on the ground in the roundpen with picking up cues for walk, trot and canter. She was apparently ridden with spurs and we're teaching her to move off with less pressure. Sister gets along well with the small herd she is with, two geldings and another mare. Once in awhile she pushes a horse off their food, but then gets pushed right back. She has good potential for that laid back trail horse - nothing seems to phase her!
Update: Sister is in her new foster home for the winter. She has a small herd, 80 acres and humans that love her and will put some more miles on her. We wouldn't be surprised if she was adopted come April by her foster family.
