Wende is a 12YO Oldenburger registered Hanoverian mare. Her sire is the Hanoverian stallion, Wendepunkt. Wendy is about 15.3H and has been schooled for first level dressage and an experienced rider can do a half pass with her. She will worry about food if she is confined and does much better when out to pasture. This was caused by an abuse issue when she was very young. She trailer loads, is easy to catch, and stands well for the farrier. Her ground work is solid, she hooks on nicely in the roundpen. We are finding her to be willing to trust if you give her a good deal.
Update: Wende is a nicely trained, very sensitive horse under saddle. She requires an intermediate or better rider with soft hands and quiet seat and legs. She responds to subtle cues, can be opinionated and a little argumentative at times if her rider is sloppy and doesn't ask politely. She shows every sign of wanting to trust and bond with her human, wanting to please as well, but you need to be respectful and polite in the ask.
Update: Wende has been evaluated by our trainers who are experienced in dressage. They are raving about her talent and have helped her to re-focus her energies with a great work ethic. She is graceful, aristrocratic and a joy to work with. They call her a benevolent alpha mare, intelligent and a quick learner. Wende is a talented horse trained in dressage and a fun horse to ride. She needs to reside with her human and is not suitable for a boarding arrangement.
Wende's adoption donation is $1500. She is one of those rare horses that come to our rescue that really isn't a rescue horse. She is a talented dressage horse and loves showing you what she knows in the arena. Her adoption donation will help to support the high needs rescued horses that are waiting for their new homes.
